Debra Flammang-Roper, MSW, LMSW graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in social work and earned her masters of social work degree in 2000 from the University of Iowa. Ms. Flammang-Roper started her career helping families who already had abused their child by teaching parenting skills at the Family & Children’s Council of Black Hawk County.
In October 1994, she joined Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation/ Family Practice Center and Family Medicine Residency Program where she does individual therapy, medical social work, educating medical students and faculty on child and dependent adult abuse, as well as domestic violence. She previously sat on the Iowa NASW board of directors, and is currently the chair of the NASW Northeast Iowa local branch. In her time off she likes to do what she has done since the age of eighteen and that is to entertain audiences with her voice.
